Brief Connect v2.2.12 Release Notes

New features

• Limit supported file types for upload

To bolster the security of Brief Connect, we now enforce and allow-list of filetypes that can be uploaded to a record. By default, we only support the following: .docx,.doc,.xlsx,.xls,.pptx,.ppt,.pdf,.jpg,.jpeg,.png,.gif,.tiff,.bmp,.txt,.csv,.mp4,.mov,.avi,.heic,.zip,.msg,.eml

To customise the allowed filetypes, you can update the AllowedUploadFileExtensions server variable to either be empty/not present to accept the defaults, set to all to allow any file type, or a comma-separated list of allowed filetype extensions.

New features requiring configuration updates

• Capture endorsement details in workflow actions

It's now possible to configure specific workflow actions to "stamp" an activity as endorsement, and to include information about the user's role and any acting capacity, directly into the timeline and activity log. This feature requires a feature flag to be enabled in the server, as well as additional Entra ID mapping options to be set.

Bug fixes

• Snapshots including all documents: Previously there may have been some configurations which would leave to record snapshots not including record documents. PDF Packs would generate as expected on demand and include Primary Documents and Attachments, but snapshots would only include the cover page and endorsement trail. This has now been corrected in v2.2.12 and all future Snapshots will also include documents as a normal PDF Pack would
• Improved display of closed tasks in activity log: Tasks which have been closed are presented with clearer descriptions:
