Categories

Configuration Scope: Exportable

This setting is included in configuration exports and will be the same across all environments once the config file is imported.

Overview

Categories are used to group Record Types which have similar metadata or workflow logic. Control available groupings from the Categories tab.


Add Category

  • Click Add Category to create one

  • Add Name of the Category
  • Add Description of the Category
  • Add Order in which the Category should appear on the drop down menu for the user
  • Save the new Category

Manage Category

  • Locate a Category
  • Click Edit to modify details
  • Click arrow next to Edit for the Delete option **

** Note: Before deleting a Category, remove any Record Types associated with it from the Record Types tab! You cannot delete a Category if existing Record Types are inheriting that Category.
